I like the celebrate the power of the human spirit. Over the weekend I completed my first Olympic Distance Triatlon. It wasn't too bad either, I got done in 3 hours and 3 minutes. If anyone wants more details on that wee escapade, let me know and I'll redirect you to my race report.
Last night on TV... Well, maybe you should watch the following and then I'll fill you in on the details.
That promo does not do the show justice. I'm not a fan of reality TV, but this one just has a little something extra. If they weren't making fun of the Go-Go girl, it was the male Jazz dancer, and if it wasn't then, it was something else. I laughed, I cried, my daughter claims she even pee'd a little.
If you didn't get a chance to watch it last night, I would highly recommend you make sure you get to see next weeks episode, or check online to see if ABC will make it available to view on their site.
Wow! Good on you!
ReplyDeleteAnd here I thought that I was a stud because I ran three races at the Utah Summer Games.
;-)
If I could swim better, I'd do a shorter triathlon. I did mention to a guy at the Summer Games that I would like to try a shorter run-bike-run triathlon first.
Thanks Frank!
ReplyDeleteI think we're all studs in our own way. Up until last January, I was little more than a couch potato.
If you interested, Magna put on a really good Novice distance triathlon twice a year. You really don't have to be that good of a swimmer - it's only 200m for this one, and the rest is fairly easy as well.
Yell if you want more info on it... They have one on August 9th - I'm toying with the idea of doing the Utah Half Ironman down in your neck of the woods on that day, but if for some reason I don't, I may well be out at Magna.
I am very impressed with your athletic achievements. And thanks for the reminder on Wipeout, I'd seen some previews on tv and then had forgotten about it, it looks like a cross between a Japanese tv show and Jeux Sans Frontieres. I'll check it out.
